The precaution of using the wound plaster

2022-02-21

1. Wound plaster is a panacea
Wound plasters are not a panacea and are not suitable for all wounds. In general, wound stickers are mainly used for small and shallow wounds, especially for cutting wounds with neat and clean incision, little bleeding and no need of suture, such as knife cut, cut, glass scratch, etc.

Correct approach: strictly grasp the indications. For large, deep wounds with foreign bodies, wound stickers should not be used. In this case, go to the hospital in time. For contaminated or infected wounds, such as severe skin abrasions, burns, etc., band aids should not be used. For the wounds of folliculitis, furuncle, suppurative infection and various skin diseases, it is not suitable to use wound bandages. For wounds caused by curved animals such as dog bite, cat scratch, snake bite, poisonous insect sting or bite, do not use band aids to avoid the accumulation or spread of venom and bacteria in the wound. The wound should be washed repeatedly for more than 15 minutes with clear water, cold tea water, mineral water, normal saline, 2% soapy water, etc.

2. Wound plaster can be applied casually

When using wound plaster, it's always convenient. It's not correct to paste them casually.

Correct practice: before using the band aid, first check whether there is dirt in the wound. If there is dirt, clean the wound with sterilized normal saline first, and then stick the band aid. If the wound is pierced by iron nails and other objects and is relatively deep, go to the hospital immediately and need to be injected with tetanus antitoxin. Secondly, after opening the wound patch, avoid polluting the medicine surface. When applying, the medicine surface must be aligned with the wound, and then press slightly on both sides of the wound.
